Good one! Many people are just like that. Same with recycling - does it
really do anything for us? People want to present themselves as "good"
people who care about nature. Their actions might even be harmful.

I can see that your not getting this one. CO2 traps heat in the
atmosphere. More CO2 is favorable to plants which will tend to grow
better. It also means melting the polar ice caps, flooding coastal
regions, terrible changes in weather systems, etc. At least that's the
theory.

No, the fluorocarbons were supposed to be damaging the ozone layer.
That's a somewhat different problem.
Ummm, you don't have to be a "conservative" to think that most people are
full of crap when it comes to their ways of helping to conserve the
"environment." People don't know much about the effects of their choices
and they do plenty of things wrong. It's too bad that we have such
strongly divided political groups with so many preconceptions about how
things work. It makes it nearly impossible to have rational discussions
leading to rational decisions!
