I was thinking of throwing up a server to offer free, no ads, mailing
lists and web pages for various LUGs and other techie themed groups that
want them. Do list archieving as well so that Google, my own spiders,
etc can index all that data too. Nothing fancy. Just lists that reject
attachments and require you subscribe to post. Maybe a shared blacklist
among all the lists for known spammers. Maybe like 2MB of space per
group for a website. Would that be useful or is there already to much
competition in that area? To me at least it could be useful since I
could keep it to geek only topics and provide geek specific features
that things like Yahoo Groups don't really offer.
