It's called "Reality TV".  It's staged like Professional Wrestling
(sorry anybody who also believed in Santa Claus) and generally speaking,
pretty stupid (IMNSHO).

I can see the value for relatives (aunts, uncles, grandparents) who
can't be around geographically to see some of the special moments in
kids development.  Also solders (well military personnel) stationed
overseas.  I know that while my buddy Tony was in Iraq his daughter's
soccer team played in the Show-Me state games.  I'm sure he would have
wanted to be there for that.
