I just upgraded this Dell Inspiron 1100 laptop from RedHat Linux 9 to 
Fedora Core 1. Much improved. Out of the box both the network and the 
sound work. Fedora had an easy, RedHat-like, installer and thus far 
looks very professional. I did have to install MPlayer from the RPMs on 
MPlayer HQ but that was easy enough to do. Installed the NTFS RPM so 
that I can access my XP files from Linux.

The only problem I encountered was that after running the upgrade the 
laptop no longer offered a boot loaded before going into XP. I used the 
installation disc's rescue mode and simply ran lilo and everything was 
fixed.
