I'm probably nuts since all those Indian kids typing GPL code will ruin
my chance at making a decent living from coding but I'm still very much
happy to see it happening. Not just coding either. As the open content
concept spreads and these countries are dragged into the information age
we should see a large influx of science, art, and technology being
generated from them. Possibly a lot of things that might not have
occured to most of us due to cultural differences. It should definately
shake up the world economy, for better and worse, but no doubt that
it'll be a boon to us all to have those extra hands and minds at work
for the human race. Consider the effect on the world of pulling Japan
into the modern world a couple generations ago. They have a fraction of
the population of China and India and look at the difference they've
made. I really expect China and India to have major politcal, cultural,
and economic shifts in the near future and emerge as major world
powers.. probably more powerful than the US.
