Right. For that, they could be an external e-mail utility. So, you've
got four levels of gmail service. One for consumers where your e-mail
is stored with everyone else. Two is for small businesses where your
e-mail is stored in a separate area, but still part of the larger
system. Three is for larger yet businesses where you have dedicated
servers, but either don't have the facilities to host e-mail services or
would just prefer to outsource them. For those individuals you have
dedicated gmail boxes a-la those colocated boxes you can lease for web
services. Four is the full blown corp solution where you don't want
your bits going out over the wire and prefer to host your mail yourself.
For that, you get the gmail server of your own.

Now, if they figure out how to hack Exchange servers to mine 'em with
gmail, then they have a killer app.

And, better yet, the targeted ads are unobtrusive and often just about
what you're looking for.

True. But Paramount's Great America is just down the 101 freeway,
anyway. Of course, some would argue that SGI's old campus looks
sufficiently like a theme park, anyway.
