Fact or Fiction?

Is google going to really give everyone a gig of storage space and
pretty well take over the internet mail business or is this just an
April fools joke?

Actually when I think about it the reason most people have internet
email isn't as much for the email as it is for the log on capacity to
the companies IM client. That's the only reason I have a Hotmail and a
Yahoo account. 

If its not a joke, I want my gig of space so I can email my self a
Knoppix ISO to always have available.
