You have a family history of alcoholism. That's a lot different.

Perhaps you are environmentally predisposed to avoid drinking. You can't
become an alcoholic in a world without alcohol. Thus, presumed "genetic
predispositions" for alcoholism are only expressed in certain
environments.

That depends on the extent to which environment is important for the
trait. Some "predispositions" might be expressed in all existing
environments.
