This falls into what I was talking about with blind-faith beliefs. If you read the Bible, "Love thy neighbor as thyself" is the second greatest commandment (after "love thy God"). "Thou Shall not kill" is another rather famous one. So in order to respond to a more obscure and less socially problematic sin, they have to commit one or two rather heinous ones of their own? Doesn't add up, and if you're following your faith, you should be able to see that, rather than fall in with the other lemmings. Just like anything else, if someone runs off without reading the instruction manual, things are going to go wrong.
