I disagree. There are problems with group marriages, in that they tend towards being a man and his female servants. In cultures that support group marriages, one gender is dominant, and it winds up as a servant-master relationship. Heinlein and other sci-fi authors I've read suggest a variation where there are multiples of both genders, but all instances required rather flat characters that reminded me all too much of the excessively polite cartoon gophers.
As for homosexual marriage, I think it's wrong, but I also think it's their mistake to make, not mine to condemn. As long as slides of the honeymoon aren't forced on me, I'm not harmed by it, and see no reason I should have a say in the matter.
