Quite possibly. I have little faith in my own strength of will. Of course, there are several factors left out here, Jesus was acting out the divine plan, and if I were doing something like that, I think that God would take care of my own lacking.

Up to a point. The aforementioned tolerance for pain.

No offense, but until you've been tortured to death and not tried to shorten the process, I'm going to be skeptical of this. Thinking even of your loved ones is going to be abstract at that point, especially with such heavy blood loss.

Any of us would try. I don't think any of us would be able to resist seeking escape at that point though.
