I'm not sure if you gained or lost anything there. As a trekker, I was very offended by that show. They went out of their way to get one of the female crew topless each season so far, have undermined and repeated several of the "first in starfleet" issues that the other series' dealt with, and have completely rewritten part of the history with no regard for the past series. Normally I would be forced to let that pass as artistic license, but "Enterprise" isn't artistic.
