This is an option in vim. I use it to compose messages/codestuff.

nod, the mangling (for me) does not occur until the message is droppend into
reply mode.  It occurs because the message contains newlines and then wrap at
whatever break occurs in yahoo/hotmail compose mode you can change this in my
settings on yahoo!Mail.  However, by using the snip method, you become consious
of the actual content you are resending and also avoid the auto-indent cruft
that is imposed from most free mailers.
