This is quite true. I think the US has the highest fatality rate for automobile accidents. The only road I've been on outside the US has been in Canada, so I don't know the difference in quality, but I think the difference in quality of the vehicles and competence of the drivers may have something to do with it. As mentioned before, guns don't kill people, people misusing guns kills people. The same is true of vehicles.
