OK. Here are the results:

Yahoo: 72 will wrap, 71 will not wrap.
Hotmail: 81 will wrap, 80 will not wrap.

Note that this is for *received* mail. I send it to my Yahoo or Hotmail
accounts unwrapped, but it is wrapped when I read it.

Is this a user-modifiable feature, or are all users of Yahoo and Hotmail
stuck with wrapping of incoming mail?

It's so annoying that I think it gives a good reason to use Hotmail
instead of Yahoo -- imposing wrapping at 72 characters is just not enough.
It should be more than 80. The reason is that many mailers will wrap
outgoing mail at more than 72, so Yahoo wraps lines prematurely and fouls
up *many* messages!
