Honestly, I doubt it will snow Friday, but by Murphy's law, maybe. I don't know if we've got the right system to have such an effect, but in my experience, whenever they're way off the mark, its usually a switch between partly cloudy and heavy snow. I've got my snowshovel out and have salt in my trunk just in case.
I will note that when the weather system I'm refering to exists they mention it nowadays. I forgot the term, but its basically a large circle of air movements that usually centers right around the US/CA boarder and moves counterclockwise. Even when it does exist, they do get it right more often than not.
Needless to say, I really like the improvements made in (relatively) recent years to weather reporting. 40% chance of precipitation is a lot more useful than "it's going to snow" with a 60% chance of them being wrong.
