My argument is this: This sort of thing is *exactly* why linux is safer
and more secure than most other OSs. Linux is open source and it is read
carefully and closely by many people. This clever attempt to open a hole
in the code was detected. What if a clever employee at Microsoft managed
to sneak some code like this into Win2000, say? Would we know? Not until
the hole was exploited and a massive attack had affected just about every
PC in the country. I'm sure that Linux code is checked much more
carefully than is Microsoft code.
