My main reason for switching from RH:
http://news.com.com/2100-7344_3-5103510.html?tag=fd_nbs_ent
"Another difference between the two versions is that Red Hat won't
guarantee patches for security holes and bugs for Fedora. "There is no
formal commitment about errata support," Young said."
So how long will a vulnerability sit around before RH issues a fix? It
sounds like Fedora will be for developers mostly, and I want to run as
secure a box at home as possible. I know, I know, "run a *BSD", etc! :)
Also, there was an article not long ago where RH's Szulik basically
conceded the desktop to Windows. And this on the heels of M$ saying
Longhorn won't be out til 2005 or so. Talk about a window for
developing and pushing Linux to the desktop, and they (RH) are dropping
the ball big time.
