My parents live right outside the city limits (ie. half a mile away) and
there is a telephone POP (not sure if this is the correct term, but close
enough) a few miles away. I called Centurytel and DSL is available for
their exchange and also for their telephone number, but Centurytel
won't guarantee the DSL will work until an order is placed with
them and a line check is done.....It seems they won't do a line check
until you have a "hard order" with them.
