You are incorrect. They don't sell the dialup systems any more. The only
systems that are available any more are the more expensive two way
systems. Fortunately, Direct TV has recently come out with an Ethernet
interfaced system, so I would not have to run my data through a piece of
junk windows box. The upload speeds might not be blazing, but ADSL and
cable also have limited upload speeds compared with their download
speeds. The idea is that people at home should not be serving out
information. They should be consuming it. Only weirdo's like our selves
break that convention.

You'd think they could put maps of their service topography on their
website... I'm in the same boat with my parents.

Satellite isn't a solution, its a piece of junk sitting in your lawn.
Great download speeds, but the upload is..well..dialup.

Thats about what Sprint charged my grandmother at one of their sale
prices. What's the bandwidth for that price?
Hers is 128kbps, iirc

Hopefully that will catch on. ADSL has no excuse to cost as much as it
does. They just don't want to invest in the infrastructure.
