I couldn't uninstall OpenSSH in Win2000 without starting in "safe mode,"
so I started in safe mode, deleted files and registry items, rebooted and
OpenSSH was gone. (Big windows annoyance: rebooting! Can't do a thing
without a restart. I'm glad unix doesn't work that way. Back to "safe
mode"....) Anyway, starting in safe mode caused windows to rearrange my
desktop icons. It also caused programs I launched to come up in smaller
windows than usual. Why doesn't "safe mode" not automatically store
earlier settings unless you explicitly request to change them? Yet
another Windows annoyance! ;-)
