If you haven't looked at this it's sort of interesting. It appears to be
a free VM enviroment that can run virtual copies of Linux, XP, and soon
FreeBSD on a single system much like VMWare. It claims that it's faster
than programs such as VMWare of Plex86 (because it requires minor
changes to the kernel instead of trying to beat the kernel into
behaving). Currently it only runs on x86 but should be reasonably easy
to port to run on other hardware. In practical terms right now you can
only run Linux on it but they are negotiating with Microsoft to release
the changes needed to let XP users run in this enviroment too.
