The dictionary.com entry for foo points towards hacker usage of foo
originating at MIT.
Of course someone might have posted this already - I missed the start of
this thread.

The TMRC being the Tech Model Railroad Club - for those that don't know
about it and it's links to hackerdom, you should read Stephen levy's book,
"Hackers".
