I guess it wouldn't hurt to ask outright. Does anybody here deal with the administrative systems of their school, and if so, what program do they use? I suspect most of the good ones are in-house, but even those are sometimes shared between universities. For those of you familiar with it, I'm looking into alternatives to Jenzabar/Teams Elite which we could program or reprogram modules for. The system currently handles things like student registration, biographical data, employee records, grade history, course lists, student employment status, SEVIS reporting, etc. There is a great deal I would add to this as time allowed, but I'd need somewhere to start, simply due to a lack of funding to develop from scratch.

My father works at the Secretary of State's office, and has been telling me about efforts with some of the software they use to develop consortiums with other States' SOS offices for user community development of the applications. This is my long-term goal with this, to get something community oriented started in the administrative system software development. I've spent too much time trying to fix poorly coded and poorly supported garbage like Jenzabar to sit by any longer.

I need something that actually does what its supposed to do for once.
