Ok, here's my network, currently:
Net-WinME--\ Win95 (unconnected)
SuSE---Hub (a rather long distance) Win95 (unconnected)
Net-WinXP--/
The long distance could be spanned by about $70 worth of cable, $20 worth of
conduit, and about $80 in drill & large hole bits, not to mention labor.
What I've been looking into doing is putting a wireless +4port hub by the
two win95 boxes, and then running cable from the existing wired hub to
another wireless hub which the first wireless hub will connect to via
802.11b/g. Then, I plan on running the net through the SuSE box (reformatted
back to a more suitable firewall and router), and thus having net access and
file sharing for all the computers. Any idea if the wireless hubs will work
that way?
Note that by "Net-", I mean that that box dials in. To share the net, we run
through the XP box.
