I think Shannon misunderstood me, though he is wrong in saying its a "purely" thermodynamic process, I suspect he read my statement as claiming it was purely mechanical. The beauty of the system is that it uses thermodynamic processes coupled with mechanical to create its effect. The condensor itself I'm unsure of. I'm calling it a thermodynamic process, but the fact that it is forcing the heat out by mechanically compressing the fluid might mean its a mechanical process, but the heat energy expulsion is due to the thermodynamic process of changing matters state.
