Currently Chinese space technology and economic potential is a fraction
of what NASA has. Maybe we're just leading them on, so that the real
competition can start in 30 years or so ;-) But seriously - space
exploration is not a commercially competitive area. It's a place for
international cooperation, so the more countries are doing it, the
merrier.

Coincidentally, I wonder what would happen to the U.S. economy if China
introduced trade embargo tomorrow.
