I would say, "But I already know how to read." I might also say, "I'm
not going to have a hissy fit when someone suggests that a group of
people do something in a place that I would rather not go." I would
most likely say, "Hmm, I respectfully decline, but thanks." I most
definitely would not say, "I'm going to blow this way out of
proportion!" And I'm pretty sure that I wouldn't say, "ARGH! THIS IS
*MY* WORLD! DON'T YOU PEOPLE UNDERSTAND THAT PEOPLE LIKE ME DON'T LIKE
IT WHEN PEOPLE LIKE YOU DO THAT ONE THING THAT I DON'T DO?! I THINK WE
SHOULD STAY AWAY FROM EACH OTHER, MOSTLY YOU AWAY FROM ME! ARGH! MY
WORLD, NO SHARE! COMPROMISE? WHAT'S THAT?"
But seriously, you sound like a pompous jerk. So do I. I'm just
willing to accept the fact that I sound like a pompous jerk and that
some people just can't live up to my incredibly high standards.
Can we quit this? Everyone? Thanks.
