If your business is based off an old dos app with no clear upgrade path
and no source your up shit creek when it comes to trying to upgrade your
servers. About the best I could suggest is to hire someone to reprogram
the whole thing from scratch and make sure you keep the damn source code.
If you can't afford to hire somebody then your all but toally screwed.
Very good reasons to choose opensource next time.
For the record, I have worked places that were in exactly this position.
They had rooms stocked with spare server parts and backups of the software
because there is no where they can easily replace those things. Sort of
pitiful.
