Using syslog.conf is what I have done as well. The only difference here
is what program does the log posting. Tail really only reposts what
syslog had already written down; so having syslog do it in the first
place may make more sense to some folks.
A more interesting question is: how do I make an *interactive* program
(such as top -s) run in the console of my choice?
