What are the rates with a typical flu outbreak like we had this winter?
Considering how many became ill over such a short period of time, I'd say it more than doubled each week. Then the rate fell off sharply, people got better, and it was back to normal after about 8 weeks. Influenza has been around a long time, so we know how to treat it, but untreated, I think it has th same survival rate. If this was killing 20%, then I'd be worried, but it looks like flu2.0 to me.

As for Canada, does their healthcare system or climate have anything to do with it? Most people with the disease in America or China are in warm weather, while Canada has colder weather on the whole.
