There isn't a subsidy at all for the middle class, the middle class is very maligned in this country, as is almost every well recognized majority. The only thing the middle class gets is a tax benefit if they fall into certain categories, ie, if a family makes 33,000 per year, they classify as a lower tax bracket than if they had 33,100, and thus pay a lower percentage along with people making 27,100. I'm just picking random numbers, and this all slides around based on the whim of the IRS and legislators.
