The problem is that it isn't rational to let irrational people out
reproduce the rational people so the rational people are faced with the
choice of worsening over population or slowly letting morons claim more
and more of the world.

Of course you also have people such as myself who wonder why he can't
solve the problem by having many children but teaching them to use the
stupid people as a food resource. Obviously, if you can hunt someone down
and eat them then you deserve to survive and they don't. Unless they
decide your crazy and as a mob swarm you and kill you. Of course if they
manage that you didn't deserve to breed anyway. I guess it balances itself
out.
