add to prefs.js or preferably user.js (since that overrides prefs.js):
user_pref("keyword.URL", "http://www.google.com/search?q=");
95% of the time, all you have to do is type your search terms in the
location bar. Occassionally, it will "almost" get a url match, so just
typing in your search terms won't work. If that happens, just put
"keyword:" in front of it (Ctl-L, Home, keyword: and you don't even have
to take your hands off the keyboard =)
There is another super-useful tip out there to disable ads and webbugs
from some of the more prominent violators (doubleclick, etc ad nauseum)
by adding stuff to your userContent.css. Works friggin great! I have a
copy if anyone wants it and can't find it.

Cardinal Rule of Technical Support, which goes thusly: "Verily, thou
shalt not take unto thine heart any words spoken by the Luser, for I say
unto thee, their mouths spout naught but untruth."
