Odd, I use the scroll wheel in VNC all the time without trouble. Were you
using it over a LAN or over dialup?

I notice slight speed bumps but not enough to be a problem for office apps
or web browsing. As I said it even plays games like Gnibbles without a
noticable speed problem for me. There is even less of a speed problem when
both the client and the server are fast machines.

I've noticed the Windows XP VNC client is slower than the Linux one and
seems to have trouble dealing with combo keystrokes etc. I've had no such
problems under Linux though.

I've not tried it but will look at it. What would be the point of a remote
desktop without a Linux server?
