IMHO, anything with a decent brand name (Fuji, TDK, etc.) is fine as long as you burn it at 8x.  It's worth the time; I've never burned a coaster at 8x.  When I tried to burn at 24x (even with CDs rated for it), I got CDs that wouldn't mount or had tracks that wouldn't play.
