CenturyTel actually seems okay to me so far. I had a problem with one of
their phone operators when trying to get hooked up last time but all other
employees I worked with were very helpful. The phone company I have now,
Natco, I think mentioned being a partner with them in some way and so far
I've been impressed with them too. Natco seriously has the best dial-up
Internet service I've ever had and they offer ISDN way out in the
boondocks where I am and told me they'll be offering DSL way out here in
about 2 months. Shit in Columbia GTE couldn't get me DSL service when I
lived next to one of the damn local switch buildings but this phone
company can hook me up 15 miles from the nearest half-assed town? If the
two work together maybe this could mean them trying to do the same with
rural locations in Missouri... maybe even offering more bandwidth in
Columbia. Can't be sure but I'd take it as more likely than with GTE or
Verizon or whatever the shit they're called now.
