My project to implement such a project in clean/flexible/extendible PHP
(opensourced of course) is coming along but it's a pretty damn big under
taking. Not that it still isn't a lot better than Miva but I wouldn't
suggest everyone try to roll their own. You can do a simple webstore in
PHP easily but to make it really powerful and maintainable is a lot of
work. I've been working on it for about two years.
(If anyone cares this is the project I'm working on for Kirk or Bob or
whatever he calls himself.)
