[MLUG - DISCUSSION] Windows PC system info

What's the best way to get the following info from a Windows PC?  I think
they are all NT or 2000, but possibly Win98.  We have a bunch of grad
students with PCs and I want to know what they are using so that we can
decide which to upgrade.  Let's assume that they are computer illiterate.
I would like them to find out what they have and send me the info.  I'd
like to know:

CPU type and speed
RAM
HD capacity (used/free)

The last one is easy, but what's the best way to deal with the first two?
