There's a script on the samba.org website to delete cahced IE files whenever
a user logs off. So that's not really an issue.

Quotas deal with other huge files. If we're talking about a lab, you really
do need roaming profiles - people can't be allocated their own individual
machine. People expect their application data to follow them.

There's a huge amount of information available online for configuring samba.
Remember samba is used in big organisations - ie thousands of users - as
much as WinNT/sk servers. It is more than capable of what you want to do,
just make sure you really understand how you are going to go about the task
before you start.

We have roaming profiles in the office here which do work. We are moving
more users in that direction. If a machine goes down they cna simply log on
at someone else's desk. When you're supporting a large number of users this,
imho, is a necessity.
