Well, I can tell you a few things that I remember. I used to go to a lot
of movies in Columbia in both of the places you just named. Both of them
started with the AMC screens and -- this is the weird thing -- previews
for movies running in one theater would be shown at the other theater!
(and they weren't playing at both). The theaters were definitely working
together very closely. It might not look like it, but they had to have
been one large business. Maybe that has changed, but when I was living in
Columbia, that's what was going on.

Not quite. We have Oak Street Cinema, Uptown Cinema and Lagoon Cinema...

But, it can still happen that a great movie will run at Ragtag and it
won't play in Minneapolis at all. It isn't quite as good here film-wise
as I thought it would be. Most of the theaters run same films as all the
other theaters. For example, Sweet Home Alabama is playing at 25 theaters
in the metro area:
