Looks like after the initial roll out, the prices bounced back up when they figured out they couldn't hold them that low... Or after all the DSL providers got knocked out of business, the guys with the staying power were able to hike their prices back up to recoup costs. Interesting...
Reason I said $50 for 1.5Mb, was because that's what the article quoted. Living beyond the broadband boundary, I don't waste my time checking prices any more. I'm just waiting for satellite to go down in price and be less windows dependant. I don't want to run my connection through a windows box or have to boot to windows every time my connection goes down. I also don't want to spend $600 on Equipment and have to pay $70 a month for it.

I've not seen even 1.5mb for $50. Lately, $50 seems to be the low end price
for 512/128kb
