That sounds odd to me, because the way credit cards "work" is that
the merchant has to fork over a (small) percentage of his adjusted
gross in order to take payment by credit card. This is why the very
stingiest places (Sam's Club) don't take credit cards at all (except
their own) but do take debit/atm cards. And why some other places
give you a discount for cash.
Acutally, do you mean that the companies that process credit cards
are discouraging debit cards? I guess that might make more sense.
