I often saved students and professors that had lost important work due to
floppies going bad. I think all instructors should tell students to back
up all work to an extra disk.. then if they don't then tough luck. BTW
'dd' does some amazing things with floppies that are dying. Rip the usable
bits off the disk, mount the image, copy the files to a new disk, and wham
everything is fixed. Frequently you'll get 100% good copy of all the files
on the disk despite the disk being bad.
