Well, actually, BIOS setting are stored in EEPROM/Flash. The BIOS setup is
on the hard disk, not in system EEPROM/Flash.
That's really only with the BIG Compaq Servers...and that's why Compaq has
the SmartStart CD...
The way I look at it...
1) it keep the idiots at bay; you have to know what you're doing!
2) The BIOS options and setup are much more complete and functional than the
typical EEPROM/Flash BIOS based setups. i.e. Help actually gives you help
on the Compaq.
3) It works.
Of course, I'm use to it....
