Firewire is VERY plug and play. I've got a CD burner I'm using for my
PowerBook and I've had a lot of luck with the thing. It's been highly
reliable, fast, efficient, etc.
I've found that overal, Macs handle Removable devices MUCH better than
Windows does. Winblows still crashes every now and then when I remove a
USB device, or plug one in. I haven't hit that with my Mac yet - it
just works. There aren't many OS's where you can say that on. Granted,
most of the time hardware has to be said to actually work on a mac, but
if it "works" on a mac, it works all the way.
Cheers!
