My experience with Compaq, Gateway, and Dell is that you get what you pay
for. If you go with ultra-cheap systems you get crap. If you go with
something a lil off the bottom you'll usually get something okay. My main
complaint is that all three frequently use specialized parts of their own
design and tend to do bad things like glue cables in place. They also
usually cost a lil more than an equiv whitebox system would have cost.
