> MLUG is a boys club, simply put. Okay, here's a way to look at it...
Not entirely. We've had several women on here over the last couple years
I've been on this list.

No way. Only if am looking for a quick fling.
> B) Classes
> C) Work
Neither is a very good choice as it could interfere with more serious
matters.

If they are interested in computers maybe. Wouldn't shared interests be a
good way to meet someone?

Probably but then any woman here probably is here for the same reason we
are and not to pick up guys. That doesn't mean she won't pick up guys..
just that picking up guys isn't why she participated.

I know quite a few women that are engineers, science freaks, geeks, etc..
many are much smarter and geekier than I am. Sure certain things attract a
statistically higher level of a given gender but I think that's mostly
social expectations and such at play. You teach a girl to play 'school'
and give a boy a box of legos.

I doubt many women would want to use MLUG to pick up guys but a few might
if they knew we existed. I'd disagree that Linux doesn't interest women
though. Try looking through kernel sources for female names. You might be
surprised.
