Did anybody watch "Unfolding Universe" Last night?
There was some hinting of a dyson sphere, but I thought I'd see what you're
opinions were. Will humanity outlive the Sun, the Milky Way/Andromeda
collision, the "big crunch"? Also, is the virgo cluster the center of the
universe, or just a local node of the big crunch?

Some of the things that came to mind while watching were what actions
favorite sci-fi characters would take during the collision with andromeda.
Asimov's Foundation characters I think would "island-hop" to safe systems,
or perhaps even to other galaxies. I think Heinlein's long-lived characters
would simply get onboard a bussard ram jet and take a tour of the parts of
the galaxy more likely to survive. Niven's characters were already packing
up and leaving in the last of the Ringworld series, due to an explosion in
the galactic core that was propagating outward..

I'm tired of all this nonsense about beauty being only skin deep. That's
deep enough. What do you want; an adorable pancreas?
