Yea, there's ethernet in the rooms in tj, its 10baset, i'm averaging
300-400k/sec anymore on it. I live on the 7th floor (penthouse floor
:P) of TJ north.

You're right, the north tower has way too much steel for good
wireless communications. My roomate, a HAM radio guy, says the building
framework is a good antenna though, he's picked up signals from things you
don't want to know about....But guess what? plug a wire from the antenna
of your fm radio to the ground and you pick up radio stations like 105.7
the point much much better.
